Representations, Affordances, and Interactive Systems

چکیده
The history of algorithmic composition using a digital computer has undergone many representations—data structures that encode some aspects the outside world, or processes and entities within program itself. Parallel histories in cognitive science artificial intelligence have (of necessity) confronted their own notions representations, including ecological perception view J.J. Gibson, who claims mental representations are redundant to affordances apparent its objects, relations. This review tracks these parallel how orientations designs multimodal interactive systems give rise affordances: models used expose parameters controls creator determine system can be and, thus, what it mean.

Learning Visual Representations for Interactive Systems
We describe two quite different methods for associating action parameters to visual percepts. Our RLVC algorithm performs reinforcement learning directly on the visual input space. To make this very large space manageable, RLVC interleaves the reinforcement learner with a supervised classification algorithm that seeks to split perceptual states so as to reduce perceptual aliasing. This results ...

متن کاملcompactifications and representations of transformation semigroups
this thesis deals essentially (but not from all aspects) with the extension of the notion of semigroup compactification and the construction of a general theory of semitopological nonaffine (affine) transformation semigroup compactifications. it determines those compactification which are universal with respect to some algebric or topological properties. as an application of the theory, it is i...

A growing field in robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) research is human–robot collaboration, whose target is to enable effective teamwork between humans and robots. However, in many situations human teams are still superior to human–robot teams, primarily because human teams can easily agree on a common goal with language, and the individual members observe each other effectively, levera...
متن کاملOperationalizing Operational Logics: Semiotic Knowledge Representations for Interactive Systems
All projects in AI begin by selecting or devising knowledge representations suitable for the project’s functional requirements. Interactive systems (including games) have semiotic considerations on top of their functional requirements: they must be legible to users, players, and their own designers. AI working within or around interactive systems must acknowledge and support the concerns of hum...
